CONTEMPORARY CLASSES

At Pendle Academy our Contemporary classes are 'free' (meaning we don't follow a set syllabus), however we do incorporate elements of BBO and ID Company Contemporary syllabus into our classes.

Contemporary Dance stems from the core, or torso, of the body and uses elements of contract, release, spiral, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation. This evolving style has fast become one of the most dominant genres for dancers throughout the world. Always changing and ever-evolving, contemporary dance techniques encourage and reward creative freedom and artistic expression.

Though our classes don't fully follow the BBO or ID Company syllabi, if a student wished to take a Contemporary exam then this is something that can be worked towards.
