At Pendle Academy we are proud to follow the ISTD Tap syllabus.

Tap Dance is an exciting, percussive, rhythmical dance form. The dancer uses their feet to strike the floor, beating out a melody, with tap shoes which have small metal plates on the toe and heel to give the distinctive sound. Tap dance is a theatrical art form often seen on screen and stage in musicals.

Our ISTD Tap classes work towards graded exams, however classes can be taken just for fun and experience if a students doesn't wish to go down the exam route.

Within these classes, students will also work to enhance their technique using some of our other registered training programmes such as the Denman Theatre Tap syllabus.
